Morning thoughts:

I woke up and saw a text. It was the last confirmation for the dinner party! I am so happy and excited! I would invite you all but I can't cook for that many people yet.

I will keep you guys posted!
My uncle shared this with me and its beautiful!

Seems like I have created a alter ego of myself. Haha neat.

Okay that's enough, I was just having some fun haha. Enjoy!
I had a bad lunch today, I ate at burger king because I got into a fight with him again. Over what? obviously about food, so gay. I was in a world of hurt eating fast food because of my cold sore! Oh well, I like to rely on myself and not others but lets not talk about that.

Today I made Roasted chicken breast with cherry tomatoes and asparagus.

Heres how it went down:

Cut the 8 asparagus
Cut in half 8 cherry tomatoes
put the chicken breast skin side up
a sprig of rosemary leaves
and a sprig of rosemary
mix well.

Pre-heat oven to 400 and pop it in for 40 mins. First thing when I took it out, smelled so good. The rosemary always gets me and its such a good way of seasoning your food.

The taste was actually missing a little salt, the breast was very thick and juicy though. It wasn't dry at all! That's the good news.

After cooking, I went to catch up with a friend and she asked me. Whats the difference between daniel choi & daniel oliver? Then we started making nicknames for daniel oliver, like danny oli, dan oli...the list goes on haha.

There's a hidden message in cooking. You need to find it, and once you do. You will never forget it.

I got 12 more days left, lets take it from the top! =)
Lately I have been listening to a lot of George Nozuka, I have no clue why. Some how his music calms me down and its very soothing too.

Anyways today, I got home late from picking up my sister. I started cooking at 11 with the little one hanging around. She tried to help but there wasn't much for her to do. I just told her to wash the potatoes, take out pans and put back stuff. Haha.

For this recipe, you needed to boil potatoes and let it cool after it was soft and tender. Weird thing was, when I cut one of the potatoes in half, it was rotten inside! So not cool.

After when I got my potatoes in halves, I smoked the bacon, added red onions and mixed it. Once it was golden brown, I added the potatoes and cooked it till the colour was just right.

Then I served it on a plate, added salt, pepper and 5 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar to the pan. I mixed it for a while, served the radicchio on top of the potato mix and poured the remaining seasoning on the salad.

It smelled really good! So good that my grandma came down and tried some. =)
Some pictures =)

what a mess

"what else can i do!?"

ahhh my warm salad =)

cant get my eyes off it hehe

Some thoughts:

I regret not starting earlier but its never too late.

What I've enjoyed most, though, is getting feedback from others. Even if its bad, it just makes me want to do even better!

Good food is a global thing and I always find something new and amazing to learn - I love it!

There's a long list of people I would like to thank, you can call them "hidden heroes" if you like.

Always learn from others.

I hope you all learn from this as well but then again who reads this anyways? Haha.

I'm back! Spent, laughed and experienced.

So even though I went on a trip today. I still came home and finished up my cheesecake because I said I would cook for 30 days right? I say things that I mean and mean the things that I say.

After getting home and relaxing a bit, I washed and rinsed my heart shaped cherries and started to make my sauce. I added 3 tablespoons of sugar in a sauce pan along with the cherries and simmered till there was a thick sweet sauce.

Easy.

Then clients came and tried my cheesecake with the cherry sauce. In my opinion, it was in the middle., not too sweet and not too favourless. The cherry sauce saved it a bit.

A couple of mistakes that I made was:
I didn't grease the side of the baking pan
I didn't put a tin foil on top of the cake while I was baking. ( this will allow the top not to brown so fast)
add more sugar?? I don't know.

the more i look at it, the more i love the logo.

first love

=)

saucee!

finished

i was eating it then i was like OMG I HAVE TO TAKE A PICTURE OF IT haha

I don't know what that says

Thanks tiff =)
Today is the day I broke the record of not eating fast food. I lasted for 15 days but I had to give in because obviously I couldn't cook for myself.

The more people look down on my cooking, the more I'm going to fight it and cook even better.
